Psychology is the study of mental processes and how they relate to human behavior. People often seek the help of a licensed psychologist because they don't understand why they behave in certain ways or because they need support and accountability to change behavior. In Indiana, anyone who provides individual or group psychological counseling must have a graduate or doctoral degree. This means that you will begin with a Bachelor’s degree, then move on to an advanced psychology degree in order to practice counseling.
